Event information

Registrations for this event are not yet open. Entries open at Tue 10 Dec 2024 12:00PM.

We are in the process of making this a 4 star event - depending on some grant funding and IWT support.  If we don't achieve targets, it will still be a 3 star event and the most important wavesailing event in Australia.

Event Schedule:

Friday 31st January to Monday 3  February  (The event will be held over two consecutive days during the event window).  Reserve dates are  7-10th February if conditions don't suit in the first weekend.

Please note we have a restriction of 50 entrants so please register early to guarantee your place.

Fleets

The Fleets will be as listed below.

ALL WINDSURFERS WELCOME. Entrants will need to be full WWA members or purchase Single Event Membership in order to compete. Note this is essential to provide the adequate insurance for the event and also provides you with personal injury cover and 3rd party liability cover during the event.

Open:  Open to anyone.

Women: Women only (Women are welcome to enter any other divisions they are eligable for).

Youth: U18 and U21 divisions

Masters: Age 45 and older

Grand Masters: 60+

Competition Format

We will aim to run a 'dingle' format which gives everyone at least 2 heats.

In the event of limited wind and/or waves we may run alternative formats.

Safety

The usual safety measures will be in place for this event as per previous years including two professional jet skis and sleds but the Department of Transport has not granted us exemption from wearing life jackets over 400m from the shore this year. If you sail beyond 400m of the shore the law requires you to wear a Type 2/Level 50 life jacket.
